This programme is comprised of 5 x half day workshops.
Who are these sessions for
This programme is open to all leaders in health and care. The intention is for participants to be able to share the learning back in their respective organisations.
Programme Outline
Module 1 – Leadership, Management and You
Exploring the characteristics and differences of leadership and management. Developing self-awareness and an understanding of your impact in creating workplace culture through behavioural style testing, recognising our own strengths, weaknesses and ‘blind spots’ and how this contributes to increased Emotional Intelligence.
Module 2 – Understanding Your Leadership Style
In this workshop we will gain an understanding of different leadership styles, examining your own natural style of leadership and how to be flexible in your approach. We will explore situational leadership theory and practice techniques to support effective leadership and development of others.
Module 3 – What is Inclusive Leadership?
Developing a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute. We will explore how to embrace inclusive leadership through an appreciation of difference; looking at behavioural styles, and compassionate leadership, linked to the work of Prof Michael West and the NHS People Promise.
Module 4 – Conducting Courageous Conversations
In the workshop we will be focusing on how to conduct meaningful, coaching style conversations that are inclusive and compassionate in the workplace to enable others.
Module 5 – Leading Beyond Boundaries
Developing, building, and managing relationships within the broader community of care.
In this workshop we will develop an understanding of systems leadership and what this means for your role in the NHS. We will explore the skills of influencing, negotiating and relationship building to build solid relationships with those you work with beyond your immediate workplace.

Attendance and Cancellation Policy
Your commitment to attendance is crucial to the success and outcome of our events, as well as your continued personal development. Spaces are limited and non-attendance prevents others from benefiting from the opportunity. If you are no longer able to attend, please email [email protected] as soon as possible so that we can offer the space to another applicant.
Places cancelled at short notice can occasionally lead to events being cancelled or postponed, as running events with fewer participants can impact the learning and overall success. However, we understand that cancelling at short notice is sometimes unavoidable.
Please note cancellations with less than 1 working weeks’ notice may be reported to the sponsoring organisation.
We reserve the right to cancel or postpone an event should unexpected circumstances occur. Should an event need to be cancelled we will not be held responsible for any travel or accommodation that has been pre-booked by the attendee.
We’re committed to looking at ways we can improve and develop our Leadership Development offers. Your feedback supports us and providers to ensure we are delivering the right interventions in the right way. As such, we would be grateful for your participation in any post-event follow-up & evaluation.
