EMCC Global EQA Bespoke Practitioner Coaching Programme with EIA Professional Designation
Purpose
This programme provides you with the opportunity to complete a course of training accredited by the EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) at Practitioner level. On successful completion of the programme, you will receive a EMCC Global European Quality Award (EQA) Bespoke Programme Certificate and will also be recommended for your EMCC Professional Designation as a Coach.
Target Audience
Active NHS Coaches in the Southwest region. As this is a Practitioner level programme it requires delegates to have at least two to three years’ experience of coaching either formally or informally.
Level
Following successful completion of the programme as an individual participant of the programme, typically you will be recommended for your EMCC Global Individual Accreditation (EIA). This is renewed by participants directly with EMCC Global every 5 years.
Aim The aim of the programme is to: – Develop participants coaching knowledge and skills – Build coaching capacity and capability across the whole health and care system – Professionalise coaching practice, through recognition and accreditation | Objectives The objectives for this programme are to give participants the opportunity contribute to creating: – A compassionate and inclusive culture – A positive staff experience, attracting and retaining the workforce – Collaborative working across boundaries in a complex and adaptive system |
Outcomes
By the end of this programme delegates/participants will be able to demonstrate that they:
- Understand the concept of coaching; the roles and responsibilities for coaches and coachees.
- Understand the EMCC core competencies for coaching and relate to participants’ own coaching practice.
- Able to apply a limited range of tools and techniques to support their coaching practice.
- Feel comfortable to manage the client contract including boundaries, ethics and diversity.
- Able to evaluate and reflect on their own coaching practice. Identify development areas and opportunities for CPD
- Understand the requirements of the EMCC EIA process and related assessment.
- Understand how coaching can support the development of compassionate and inclusive cultures within the workplace.
- Able to support the coachee to work collaboratively across a system tackling complex issues.
Delivery format
1.5-hour programme introduction, followed by 4 x 3-hour webinars, finishing with a 1.5-hour portfolio webinar and submission of a Portfolio of Evidence.
Trio action learning sets and coaching practice will take place between online sessions
The programme utilises a core text to underpin the content. The programme is supplemented with additional open source resources and materials, however, if you are successful in securing a place, we would recommend purchasing the core text prior to the programme orientation, in preparation for the first online workshop. All webinars and workshops will be delivered online via Zoom, and access to this platform will be crucial to be able to be part of this cohort.
Please arrive on time for webinars and workshops as late arrivals can impact the learning of everyone. Each session will build upon the last therefore attendance at all elements of the programme is expected. If you miss one or more sessions, you may be withdrawn from your programme.
Participation in the workshops will require the ability to use both audio and camera; as part of planning for attendance, we recommend that you are able to access an area where you will be undisturbed and can take part in group discussions without disturbing colleagues or feeling uncomfortable.

Portfolio based assessment including:
- Personal statement (500 words)
- 5 x 500-word reflective statements
- Rich picture
- 4 x LOGS – client log, supervision log, CPD log, reflective log
- Personal development plan for the year ahead
- 5 pieces of client feedback

Membership fees, requirements and the South West Coaching Register
Following the successful completion of the EQA Coaching Programme, the Leadership & Talent Team (NHS England – South West) will fund your membership for the first 12 months.
To align with EMCC’s requirements you will need to be able to evidence the above EIA requirements on an annual basis in order to renew your membership. Ongoing membership fees will need to be self funded. Membership fees can be found on the EMCC website.
Once you have received your accreditation, please register as a Coach on our Coaching & Mentoring Register, providing Coaching services for colleagues within the South West Region.
Application process
Prior to applying for this programme, please ensure your application is approved your Line Manager on behalf of your organisation and your system Chief People Officer. Within the application form, we require their name, job title and email address.
We require applicants to apply via the link below and fully complete the online application form. We are working with our ICB and system colleagues to identify individuals who are able to embed the learning at part of their role.
Applications will close 10am, Monday 5th August and we aim to notify applicants of their outcome week commencing Monday 26th August.
