We are extremely pleased to announce that The NHS South West Leadership Academy has won Large Employer Of The Year (Non Financial Services) at the InsideOut Awards. This is awarded to the large employer who has implemented the best mental health and wellbeing programme in the year focussing on recovery and preventative solutions.

With the complex pressures our South West health and care workforce have, and continue, to face, our focus has been on providing a range of support offers for individual health and well being; and supporting leaders to support their teams. This culminated in our hugely successful #SupportingYouThroughWinter package which includes support for individuals across Health and Wellbeing, Leadership and Management Offers, Coaching and Mentoring and access to a range of regional and national resources.

What you had to say about our offers….

Our Nomination….

We were all really proud to hear that we had been nominated, and subsequently shortlisted, for this award.

Our nomination stated; Recognising that increasing demands on time, attention, energy and capacity may become detrimental to health and well-being, they (SWLA) have built a portfolio of development opportunities designed to respond to the pressures of winter and around three major themes: recovery, integration and cultural change. They have had the foresight and empathy to appreciate that access to open resources and a community can provide deeply powerful experiences to lift, sustain and retain energy, hope and ambition.

And the results are in….

Four SWLA colleagues represented the team at the awards held in London on 24th March 2022 and felt honoured to hear of all the various awards for organisations, employers and individuals who are all contributing to creating mentally healthier workplaces.

Our award was the final of the night, so after a long (and very nervous!) wait, we’re so pleased to confirm that we won! We really couldn’t believe it!

It was truly inspirational to hear various stories around how others have supported their colleagues after a very difficult couple of years. The evening was a true celebration of impactful work that demonstrates the importance of continuing to champion our colleagues’ mental health and wellbeing at all times.

For many of the SWLA colleagues representing us, it was actually our first time meeting in person(!!) due to working remotely over the last couple of years – so to come together for this celebration, and ultimately win, it really highlighted the team’s dedication and passion for working together to achieve impactful offers for our NHS colleagues in the South West. A true demonstration of team-work and a huge boost in motivation for our team!

This, along with the feedback we have received from participants, certainly feels a positive amongst some very challenging and exhausting times.

Thank you to everyone who has shared our offers and joined us throughout the programme. We hope that everyone who attended felt supported and continues to prioritise their mental health and wellbeing as we continue to face difficulties.

Please note that we still have some support offers available, which you can view by clicking here.
