The aim of the South West Talent Team is to develop and support compassionate, inclusive and effective leaders to reach their full potential. As a direct result of the feedback provided through the recent survey completion, we have designed an offer package which will support you in your journey to achieving your next role.
The offers are grouped into three areas; Reflection, Insight and Transition to help you think carefully about which might be useful for you dependant on where you are in your career journey.
Reflection
These resources are designed to support you in considering where you currently are in your career and what personal reflection and associated action you may need to take to achieve your goals.
Career Development Conversation
These conversations can support you to shape your current role as well as provide the discussion around the development needed for your aspirational role.
Personal Development Plan
Do you have a PDP? This template allows you to build your personal development plan, including insights and feedback to support your progression.
Career Coaching Sessions
Career coaching provides an opportunity for you to discuss your ambitions and aspirations with a coach, external to your immediate line manager.
Executive Coaching Sessions
A powerful developmental tool to explore workplace challenges and solutions in a safe and supportive environment. Sessions are with an external, experienced coach.
Insight
These resources are designed to support you in gaining additional perspective on personal strengths and potential areas for growth.
Mock Interviews
This is only available to those with a confirmed interview in place. This provides an opportunity to seek feedback on how you present in an interview situation, utilising a safe space to practice competency and value-based interview questions.
CV
Review
We offer a CV review service whereby written feedback on your CV will be provided within just a few days. Perfect for those applying for roles who would appreciate the opportunity to have their CV reviewed by our experienced partners at NHS Elect.
HLM 360 Assessment
This questionnaire provides you with the opportunity to gain valuable feedback from your line manager, peers, direct reports and others to increase self awareness and provide a complete perspective to support your development plan. Find out more about the HLM 360 here

During your time in the pool the SW Talent Team will consider your feedback in order to procure bespoke workshops that help you to achieve your aspiration and remain responsive to your needs.

Weekly Vacancy Email
The SW Talent Team will circulate a weekly update of board level vacancies we are aware of that have been publicised via NHS jobs and through external search firms.
Public Board Recordings
Watch recordings of public board meetings to support your understanding of board operations.
Bi-Monthly Pool Network
On a bi-monthly basis, we will be organising an online networking space for the talent pool members to connect over various topics. This will be your space to discuss any topics important to you, your development or an issue you are facing. Likewise it will provide an opportunity for you to collaborate on ideas and share different perspective. We will host the meeting operationally, but it will be your space to connect!
You will be automatically invited to these sessions, no need to sign up in advance.
Face-to-Face Network
Our aim is organise a more formal face-to-face networking events on a quarterly basis, with the ambition for a senior leader to attend these meetings and provide you with an ‘In conversation with….’ Session. These meetings may be themed around a particular topic, or just to provide a networking space for you as a pool.
As this will be a face-to-face event, you will be required to register to join each session. We will be in touch soon with dates and registration details.
Calendar invitations will be sent once networking events have been scheduled.
Talent Pool Co-Mentoring
Co-mentoring is where two people work together through a mentoring process in which they both take on the roles of Mentor and Mentee. It is a mutually beneficial relationship where each participant learns from each other and improves their professional performance. Based on your requirements, you will be paired with another talent pool member. Once you have been paired, it will be your responsibility to set up meetings and maintain the mentoring relationship.
Coffee Roulette
Coffee roulette is a great and simple way to network with other members of the pool. This gives you an opportunity to collaborative, share insights, creative thinking, education and development with peers/colleagues from across the pool. You will be randomly matched to another member, it is then both of your responsibility to arrange a time to meet – either remotely via Teams, on the phone, or in person – for an ½ hour break to have a chat.

This is an online platform which offers practical tools and resources designed specifically for Leaders to help support you in your career development. The tools and resources offered are through Career Assessments, Aptitude tests, E-Learning paths, Interview simulators, Elevator Pitch Builders and Aptitude tests to name a few.
